WHY?

Why do people drive absurdly large 4x4's around London?

Why?

Can anyone provide a logical explanation for this simple question?

I thought i loathed them when i was behind the wheel of a car..... my loathing has found new strength!

Welcome!

I can hardly believe it but on the 1st September i am going to cycle the 1000 miles from Lands End to John O' Groats. Obviously not all on one day (that would just be daft!!) but it all starts on September 1st. Why am i doing this? Well really for two reasons -

- Firstly in memory of my Dad who did this amazing feat when he was 67. He was going to repeat it when he was 69 but was sadly diagnosed with lung cancer instead.

- Secondly to raise money for an amazing children's hospice called Acorns. Dad managed to raise a considerable amount for them whilst he was alive and i hope to do the same.

Please get involved by reading about my recent entry into the world of cycling as i update news of training and events and ultimately the trip itself - and also by sponsoring me...

If you know me you'll know that i haven't cycled since the early 90's and i really am the least likely person to do something like this - it is a HUGE challenge and fills me with fear and terror as well as excitement! Please help me feel your support in any way that you can!
